Masai Mara is the natural home to the “Big 5” game, and a safari to Kenya cannot be said to be complete without it. During the months of August to November, thousands of visitors get down to the Masai Mara to witness one of the most spectacular phenomena on earth.

Stretching as far as the eye can see, a teeming mass of zebra, wildebeest, and topi, trailed by scavengers make way into the Mara plains from the Serengeti, in what is known as the Great Migration. It is estimated that over two million animals take part in the journey.

Mara Simba lodge sits overlooking a dramatic bend on the bank of the Talek River, a tributary of the Mara River, gently blending into the surrounding wilderness.

Mara Simba Lodge stretches almost a kilometre along the river and the grounds on the bank remain in their virgin condition, while the landscaped gardens filled with indigenous trees at the back draw a great variety of birds and butterflies.

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve

On this day, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport to catch a flight to Masai Mara where you will be met and taken to the lodge.

You will go on a short game drive to the lodge where you will check-in. After lunch and short rest, proceed for an evening game drive. Later return to the camp for dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

You’ll rise before the sun and embark on a full day game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve in search of the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino.

These animals are known to be the 5 most dangerous animals to hunt.  Enjoy viewing the animals up close from the safety distance in the safari vehicle.

Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. Later depart on another game drive for yet another brilliant wildlife experience or take an optional tour to visit the Masai people in their village.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Fly to Nairobi

Wake up early before the sun and embark on a morning game drive, returning to camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you head to the airstrip for your flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi. Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel residence.
