The 3-Day Samburu Safari explores the rugged beauty of Northern Kenya. Samburu is part of the spectacular Great Rift Valley ecosystem, characterized by jagged mountains and endless horizons.

Embark on thrilling 4×4 game drives in Samburu with accredited English-speaking safari guides, enjoying an authentic safari experience away from the crowds. We may see large predators and rare big mammals on our game drive, as well as over 450 bird species found here.

Some of the most remarkable species of the park are the “Samburu Special Five”: Somali ostriches, long-necked gerenuk antelopes, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryx, and Somali giraffes. Large predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs are frequently seen, and the reserve is home to a population of close to 900 elephants.

Your accommodations at Soroi Samburu Lodge offer a seamless blend of tradition and modernity in a reimagined luxury sanctuary. Opened in July 2025, the lodge is nestled within 10 acres of pristine riverine forest on the western banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The journey to the lodge involves a scenic 1-hour flight from Nairobi, followed by a 50-minute drive through the conservancy.

The reserve consists of hot, dry plains and scrublands fringed by mountains, including the majestic Mt. Ololokwe. In Samburu, you get the chance to encounter the traditional Samburu tribe and gain insight into their customs and culture.

3 Day Fly-in Soroi Samburu Lodge Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Fly to Samburu Game Reserve.

Depart Wilson Airport on a scheduled flight departing at approximately 0915 Hours to arrive in Samburu (Kalama Airstrip) at approximately 1030 Hours.  On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Soroi Samburu Lodge with a game drive en route. Lunch and afternoon game drive.

Day 2: Explore Samburu Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives, including a chance to spot the unique “Samburu Special Five.” Between drives, relax by the pool, enjoy a treatment at the spa with panoramic views, or take a guided bird walk through the riverine forest—optional visit to a Samburu village.

Day 3: Samburu – Fly to Nairobi

Enjoy another morning game drive; breakfast follows, then transfer to the airstrip to catch your flight back to Nairobi, departing at approximately 1050 Hours and arriving at 1215 Hours. Drop off at your hotel or transfer to the international airport for your onward flight home.
