3 Day Road Safari Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge from Nairobi or Mombasa
This 3-Day Road Safari from Nairobi (or Mombasa) to Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is a classic Kenyan experience that explores the rugged volcanic landscapes of Tsavo West National Park and offers you the opportunity to stay at the luxurious Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.
Kilaguni Lodge is famous for being the first ever built in a Kenyan national park and features a highly active waterhole where elephants, buffalo, and zebras gather. It is superbly situated in Tsavo West National Park in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro and sheltered by the volcanic splendor of the Chyulu Hills.
It is a short drive from the main Mtito Andei Gate, which lies 280 kilometers from Nairobi (a 4 to 5-hour drive). This 2-night safari in Tsavo West National Park focuses on the following:
✓ Morning and afternoon game drives: Game drives are typically scheduled during the early morning and late afternoon when wildlife is most active
✓ Mzima Springs is a lush freshwater oasis located approximately 11.3 km (7 miles) from the lodge, roughly a 20- to 40-minute drive
✓ Shetani Lava Flow is a dramatic, eight-kilometer-long expanse of blackened, solidified magma located in Tsavo West National Park, Kenya. Formed by a volcanic eruption from the nearby Chyulu Hills roughly 200 to 500 years ago, it remains a stark, “other-worldly” feature of the savannah landscape.
✓ Game viewing from the private waterhole is often described as a “safari on its own”. The lodge is uniquely designed so that the main bar, restaurant, and many guest rooms have uninterrupted, front-row views of two active waterholes where wildlife congregates throughout the day and night
