Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo National Park – Kenya

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to be met by our English-speaking driver guide at the start of this Kenya Lodge Safari. From Nairobi, you are then transferred to Tsavo West National Park in southeastern Kenya.

After about a three-and-a-half-hour drive, we arrive at the Severin Safari Camp, located in the remote Kitani Wildlife area of Tsavo West overlooking Mt. Kilimanjaro. We have lunch and settle in at the safari camp.

Then we set off on our first 4×4 safari drive in search of the wildlife found in Tsavo West National Park. Severin Safari Camp is situated near Mzima Springs and Shetani Lava Flow. The camp is located along the seasonal Tsavo River and is surrounded by natural springs and lush bushland.

Back at the safari lodge, it’s time for dinner and relaxing in the bar with your travel companions. The views reveal Mt Kilimanjaro in the distance, and the game watching at the watering hole is excellent. At night, you can hear the sounds of wild animals from your bed.

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park – Kenya

Wake up to views of the African wilderness and enjoy breakfast. On day two of our Kenya Lodge Safari, you embark on 4×4 safari drives in Tsavo West National Park. On our morning and afternoon game drives in this vast national park, you can expect to see plenty of animals roaming the arid plains. The park is also home to buffalo, rhinos, and leopards, making it a Big Five safari destination.

Other wildlife species include the bush baby, Maasai giraffe, hippo, and numerous antelopes, such as hartebeest, lesser kudu, oryx, and klipspringer. This 3-day Tsavo West National Park Safari enables you to explore and watch the wildlife and birds of Tsavo West National Park at your own pace.

Day 2: Explore Tsavo West National Park

After an early wake-up call, a morning game drive is experienced. Chief among Tsavo West National Park ranks the marvel of Mzima Springs, replenished with two hundred and twenty million liters of crystal-clear water every day, from the underground streams stemming from the lava massif known as the Chyulu Hills, 40-50 kilometers away.

Mzima forms a haven for a rich wildlife pageant with elephant soaking half immersed in the waters, light-footed but ponderous looking hippo, apparently weightless, tip-toeing across the bottom, crocodiles basking on the bank or swirling through the water; gazelles, zebra, and giraffe wandering around the banks through the thick acacias and raffia palms together with hundreds of chattering monkeys and birds.
