The Aberdare Country Club is on a 1,300-acre wildlife sanctuary. It is a haven of unhurried charm set in a garden bursting with color, with peacocks living on the lush green lawns. Walking through this unspoiled terrain is paradise. Play a round of golf, watch a family of warthogs, play tennis, or just relax by the pool within the beautiful gardens.

The Ark Lodge is located at 1800 meters above sea level on the Aberdare Ranges, situated in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, and overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick that attract a host of awesome wildlife. The Ark comprises four decks, from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb locations for wildlife viewing.

Day 1: Nairobi Pick up from your Residence/ Airport

0800 Hours: This morning, our driver-guide will meet and greet you for your road departure to the Aberdare region, a beautiful mountain range in the central highlands of Kenya.

Driving time and Distance from Nairobi to the Aberdare Country Club are 180 kilometers and 17 kilometers, respectively, from the nearest town, Nyeri, with an approximate 2 ½ hours of driving time.

1200 Hours: Arrive for lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, where you will be assisted with the check-in formalities. This attractive club sits on a hillside and enjoys great views of Mt. Kenya.

1430 Hours: After lunch, you will be transferred by bus to the Ark Tree Lodge, located 11 Miles/17 Kilometers away in the Aberdare National Park.

1530 Hours: The Ark Tree Lodge is built in the shape of Noah’s biblical ark, and this is where you spend the night, enjoying the wildlife that comes to drink and eat the salt by the floodlit watering hole. The Ark overlooks floodlit waterholes that are regularly visited by buffalo, elephants, warthogs, bush pigs, a variety of antelope, and occasionally lions and other large animals.

The evening is spent on the open-air verandahs or in the public areas, watching the animals and birds as they come to drink.

1900 Hours: Dinner is served in the dining room. If one would like a wake-up call at night when a particular animal, such as a rhino or lion, visits the water hole, that can be arranged.

Day 2: Drive to Aberdare Country Club – Rest of the Day at Leisure

0700 Hours: In the morning, you enjoy breakfast before returning to the Aberdare Country Club by 0900 Hours.

1000 Hours: The rest of the day will be at leisure. The Aberdare Country Club offers various activities, including Horseback Riding, Golf, Bird Watching, Sundowner, Nature Walk, Champagne Breakfast, and Bush Culinary

Experience, Hiking, Chimpanzee Trekking, and Safari Drive to the following reserves: Solio Game Reserve and Aberdare Game Sanctuary. The game sanctuary is suitable for walking, and you may see giraffes, several species of antelope, or zebra as you explore, in sight of the distant peaks of Mt. Kenya.

Lunch and dinner are included, and the cottages at this attractive club are extremely comfortable.
