7 Day Kenya Safari Ol Pejeta Nakuru & Masai Mara from Nairobi

This is a wonderful 7-day Kenyan adventure that begins with a visit to Ol Pejeta/Sweetwaters Conservancy, where you have the unique opportunity to meet our closest relatives at Kenya’s only chimpanzee rescue center.

Then it is on to Lake Nakuru National Park for superb game viewing and bird watching, and heads to the world-famous Masai Mara.

The next few days in Kenya’s premier game reserve, the Masai Mara, give you plenty of time to spot the Big Five and a rich array of other wildlife roaming the open plains, as well as visit a local Maasai village to get a taste of traditional Kenyan culture.

Beginning from Nairobi, you will travel by road with your African Spice Safaris driver-guide toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, with beautiful scenery along the way. Visit rescued chimpanzees at Sweetwaters Game Ranch. Set inside the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters gives rescued chimps a second chance at a normal life.

Numbering nearly 40 animals, Sweetwaters provides an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. The chimps are split into two groups separated by the Ewaso Nyiro River.

You and your family will have the opportunity to learn all about our closest relatives, as well as other African wildlife! The Conservancy is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area, making it an unforgettable stopover.

Spend 2 nights at Ol Pejeta – Home to the Big 5, on activities such as day game drives and optional activities such as night game drives, guided bush walks, lion tracking (morning only), cultural visits, etc.

Next, we travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, a soda lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley that is rich in bird life and home to over 400 different species. Its claim to fame, however, is its large flocks of flamingos.

The sight of millions of flamingos making the lake appear ringed in pink is spectacular. In addition to its abundant bird life, it is an important haven for the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and both black & white rhinos. You may also spot lions, waterbuck, buffalo, baboons, and much more.

The grand finale is the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is home to the most famous East African tribe, the Masai. It is also home to herds of wildebeest, zebra, and other antelope, as well as giraffe and buffalo. There are plenty of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas.

The famous Masai Mara Game Reserve is Kenya’s most popular and most visited game sanctuary. It was used as the location of the well-known film ‘Out of Africa’ because of its spectacular scenery and outstanding natural beauty. Mara is home to a wide variety of plains wildlife, from wildebeest and zebras to lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

From July to August, the park hosts one of nature’s truly great events. Millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle migrate from the Serengeti, across the Tanzania border, and the Mara River to reach the sweet grass plains of the Maasai Mara National Park.

It is awash with high drama. Crocodiles lurk in the river, and lions and other predators lie in ambush in the long grass. In addition to the unforgettable game experience, about 452 bird species have been recorded in the park.
