8 Days 7 Nights Kenya Fly-in Safari Borana Conservancy Masai Mara

Explore some of Kenya’s most breathtaking wildlife conservancies away from the crowds on this unforgettable 8-day Kenya fly-in adventure that combines Borana Conservancy and Masai Mara Game Reserve.

This Kenyan safari begins in Nairobi where safaris were born, from here you fly to Borana Lodge at the heart of Borana Conservancy in Laikipia – with a fantastic view of Mount Kenya.

Borana Lodge comprises only eight rooms and the combination of privacy, natural beauty and an abundance of wildlife creates a unique setting for a truly memorable safari experience. Borana Lodge activities include walking through the bush, riding across the conservancy on horses or mountain bikes, driving in the open-top safari vehicles, or lounging at the infinity pool and enjoying the view.

The privately owned Lewa-Borana conservancy ecosystem is home to a great population of black and white rhinos and other animals. There are zebra (including the Grevy zebra), Grants and Thompson gazelles, Oryx, Jackson hartebeest, impala, reticulated giraffe and buffalo.

Larger animals that can be spotted include elephants, cheetahs, an abundance of leopards, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, jackals, hippos, serval cats, genet cats and civet cats. It is not unusual for guests to spot the Big Five even on the way from the Borana airstrip to the House. For those bird lovers, Borana Conservancy has over 300 species of birds, in all colours and sizes.

After 3 nights in Laikipia we fly to Rekero, in the heart of the Maasai Mara – a traditional tented camp with an understated style yet overall, very good quality. Its picturesque location on the banks of the Talek River make it a peaceful retreat from the action-packed game drives out on the plains, where the great wildebeest migration and their iconic river crossings are easily accessible July to September.

While the Mara can get very busy, the excellent guiding from Rekero will ensure some of the best wildlife experiences possible in this area.
