Enchoro Wildlife Camp Masai Mara

Enchoro Wildlife Camp Masai Mara is a budget/semi-luxury tented safari accommodation located on the East side of the Masai Mara Game Reserve near Oloolaimutia Gate which is the closest entrance to Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is clean, comfortable, and safe, with tents that are spacious and have beds, linen included, and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, washbasins, and hot showers. These permanent tents are fitted with mosquito nets and have private verandas for relaxing in the bush.

Facilities include bar and lounge areas, a shop selling locally-made goods, and a spacious restaurant. Enchoro Wildlife Camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes.  The camp is 3 hour’s drive from Narok town.

African Spice Safaris offers Kenya Safaris to Enchoro Wildlife Camp and is conducted in safari mini-buses or custom-made 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for game viewing. The 4×4 Land Cruisers are adapted for game viewing and fitted with refrigerators/coolboxes to keep your drinks cold out in the bush. The maximum group size is 7 guests, to guarantee each person a window seat on game drives.

There are numerous activities in Masai Mara that guests can choose to do while staying at the Enchoro Wildlife Camp and these range from luxury experiences such as Hot Air Balloon flights over the plains where you can see wildlife down below, to less costly bush meals and nature walks or wildlife treks. Some of the most popular activities are brief visits to a traditional Maasai tribal village during which travelers get a fascinating glimpse into the unique way of life of these nomadic peoples.

Guests visiting Masai Mara may book these activities below in advance of their visit to Kenya. Other activities include Morning and Afternoon game drives, bird watching, seeing the Great Wildebeest Migration (July to October), guided nature walks, Horseback safaris, Sundowners and Bush meals, visiting Masai Mara private conservancies, and visiting the Mara River to see crocodiles.

On safari in the Masai Mara, you can expect to see the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino), plus the giraffe, cheetah, hippo, and zebra. Others include the Masai giraffe, aardvark, aardwolf, mongoose, bat-eared foxes, hartebeests, impalas, dik-diks, spotted hyenas, wildebeests, monkeys, warthogs, baboons, jackals, honey badgers, crocodiles, and gazelles.

Enchoro Wildlife Tented Camp offers 3 different styles of safari camping accommodation, a campsite, a simple budget semi-luxury, and a luxury large spacious tent. The camp has a total of 27 tents, among them being standard and superior tents.

A simple budget semi-luxury large spacious tent, all en suite bathrooms with a hot and cold shower, flush toilet, changing room, power sockets, and lockers for valuables. A writing desk with foldable safari chairs and magazines to keep you entertained.

The camp has a total capacity of 68 people per night, with a campground (campsite) that allows the pinching of tents, which is for the more adventurous type of clients. The tent canvas wall front can be opened completely to allow an open view from the sleeping and bathroom areas. The camp is now connected to electricity that you can access 24/7 and a backup generator.

There is an open-air dining area built with wood on the sides and floor, the roof thatching is done with local ‘Makuti’. The restaurant serves a variety of both local and international cuisine. Guests can enjoy their meals in the dining room, in the bush, or even on the traditional Gazebo.

There is a separate sitting room (Gazebo), fireplace, and bar area on the side of the dining which is used mainly during the day, and pre-dinner drinks in the evenings as guests enjoy the evening campfire with some traditional Masai Dances or a sundowner.

The spacious dining room also serves as a meeting room convenient for all kinds of meetings, training seminars, conferences, retreats, product launches, wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate meetings, and corporate and social get-togethers.
