Our 3-day/2-night safari to Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria begins and ends in Nairobi. The tour departs at 0700 Hours–0800 Hours and focuses on rhino tracking and flamingo sightings. It includes the following:

Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
0700 Hours – 0800 Hours: Pickup from Nairobi hotel/residence
1100 Hours – 1200 Hours: Arrival at Lake Nakuru National Park, followed by a check-in and lunch at the lodge/camp
1500 Hours – 1830 Hours: Afternoon game drive focusing on rhinoceros (black and white), Rothschild’s giraffes, and flamingos along the shore
1900 Hours: Park closes, return to lodge for dinner
Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Lake Bogoria/Baringo
0700 Hours – 0830 Hours: Breakfast at the lodge, then check out
0830 Hours – 1130 Hours: Scenic drive from Nakuru to Lake Bogoria National Reserve (approx. 3-4 hours)
1200 Hours – 1300 Hours: Arrival in Bogoria, check-in, and lunch
1500 Hours – 1800 Hours: Afternoon exploration of Lake Bogoria’s hot springs, geysers, and thousands of flamingos
Optional: A short visit to Lake Baringo for a boat ride
1900 Hours: Dinner and overnight stay
Day 3: Lake Bogoria to Nairobi
0630 Hours – 0830 Hours: Early morning game drive/birdwatching to see the lakeshore at its most active time
0900 Hours – 1000 Hours: Breakfast and check out
1000 Hours – 1400 Hours: Drive back to Nairobi, typically with a lunch stop along the way
1500 Hours – 1630 Hours: Drop-off in Nairobi city center or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Starting and ending in Nairobi – pick up from a hotel or straight from the airport, this road safari combines Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria, both located in the Great Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species, including huge flocks of flamingoes and many other water birds. It is an excellent park for wildlife spotting and is home to many water-loving animals such as hippos and waterbucks.
The park is also a sanctuary for large numbers of animals, including waterbuck, warthog, impala, buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, eland, endangered black rhino, white rhino, and occasionally leopard. A large herd of hippos has a territory in the northern part of the lake, making for interesting game viewing.
After a night at Lake Nakuru, you proceed to Lake Bogoria National Reserve – a shallow saline water lake located in the northern region of the Kenyan Rift, 25 kilometers south of Lake Baringo. Lake Bogoria’s geysers and hot springs are the major attractions in the lake’s central basin.
Animals found in Lake Bogoria National Reserve include Greater Kudu, Zebra, warthogs, Impala, Klipspringers, buffalo, Monkeys among others. Predators include the genet, serval, civet, white-tailed mongoose, and cheetah.
The tour begins from Nairobi, where you drive for 3 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival at your lodge, you check in and have lunch. Later in the afternoon, you enjoy a game drive across the park looking for animals such as cape buffalo, African wild dog, zebra, eland, waterbuck, leopard, lion, and the Rothschild’s giraffe. Dinner and overnight at camp/ Lodge.
The second day in the morning you enjoy breakfast and proceed to Lake Bogoria located less 3 hours’ drive from Nakuru. Lake Bogoria is a shallow soda lake with beautiful scenery, home to many flamingos, and featuring hot springs and geysers. Spend a night at the lodge or camp.
On day 3 you will have leisure breakfast and begin your journey back to Nairobi.
3 Day Lake Nakuru & Lake Bogoria Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
0800 Hours: Enjoy breakfast at your Nairobi city hotel and after your 3 days 2 Nights safari begins with a drive to Lake Nakuru National park.
Upon arrival at the park, you will proceed with a game drive en-route to your hotel for lunch.
1200 Hours: Check-in to your hotel and lunch follows. You will have time to relax, swim, or enjoy the hotel’s ground before the afternoon game drive.
1530 Hours: After a cup of coffee/ tea or hot chocolate, you will depart for the afternoon game drive.

Bird watching: Enjoy the fabulous water birds and other bird species. The best place to view the birds is from Baboon Cliff, where you get an excellent view over the lake, and the wonderful spectacle of pink flamingo’s along its edge.
Game viewing: See the endangered white rhinos and other animals including waterbucks, warthogs, hippos, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, and more.
Drive through the unique vegetation and the biggest euphorbia forest in Africa.
Viewpoints include Lion Hill, Baboon Cliff, and Out of Africa.
Visit the beautiful waterfall at Makalia.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Drive to Lake Bogoria
0900 Hours: After enjoying breakfast at leisure, we depart to Lake Bogoria located 125 km from Nakuru. The lake is situated inside Lake Bogoria National Reserve.
1200 Hours: We arrive in time for lunch at our accommodations.
1500 Hours: In the afternoon, we explore Lake Bogoria National Reserve on a game drive and walk around this spectacular lake in the heart of an arid landscape.
The soda lake attracts massive flocks of flamingos and is often carpeted in pink, due to the high concentrations of flamingoes.
The western shore has hot springs and spouting geysers, spurting steam and bubbling geothermal pools.
Freshwater springs at the lake edge attract an abundance of birds and wildlife. We return to our accommodations later in the evening for dinner and overnight.
