Mara Major Camp, Maasai Mara National Reserve, is an eco-friendly camp (formerly known as Ilmuran Lentim eco camp) located just 500m from the Maasai Mara National Reserve Entrance at MPOOAI gate. The camp is 7 km from the village of Talek and 10 minutes’ drive from the double crossing.
With just 5 walk-in safari tents under the tall Acacia trees along the Talek River, the tented camp offers a genuine African safari experience in the unspoiled Masai Mara ecosystem, where the open plains, forests, and rivers make for beautiful wild scenery. The tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, washbasins, and hot showers. Each tent has its veranda where guests can sit back and watch the bush, enjoying the views of the Masai Mara plains. Facilities include bar and lounge areas, a shop selling locally-made products, and an airy restaurant that accommodates 10 to 12 guests. Expert guides conduct shared game drives in 4×4 safari vehicles, taking guests on game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Our Camp is solar-powered, we source water from our borehole, and have a bio garden, ensuring an environmentally responsible stay. Guests can enjoy luxury tented accommodation with en-suite bathrooms and stunning views, and amenities such as Wi-Fi in the tents.
The camp offers a farm-to-table dining experience at our Saba Restaurant, catering to all dietary and complimentary bottled water throughout your stay. A private butler service is also available upon request.
For your safety and comfort, we have trained security personnel on-site day and night. You get to enjoy an authentic Maasai-run experience with great service from our Maasai staff, traditional Maasai storytelling, bonfire evenings and you can enjoy an optional guided Maasai walking safari, Maasai village visits and bar amenities at extra fees.
