Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara (Game Drive)

0600 Hours  – 0700 Hours: Pick-up from your Nairobi hotel/airport and briefing

0700 Hours – 1230 Hours: Scenic drive to Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley escarpment and Narok Town

1230 Hours – 1430 Hours: Arrival, check-in, and lunch at the lodge or camp

1530 Hours – 1830 Hours: Afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five

1830 Hours – 1930 Hours: Return to camp, dinner, and overnight stay

Day 2: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Masai Mara Safari 2 Days 1 Night Kenya Road Trip is a short safari from Nairobi for guests who do not have enough time for a longer Safari and offers you 1 night in the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.

On day 1, we depart from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, and drive down the escarpment along the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. We arrive at our camp/lodge in the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Then we take our first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa’s top safari destinations.

The Masai Mara is Kenya’s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary, where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight.

The Masai Mara Game Reserve is approximately 280 km West of Nairobi City. Driving will take you about 5 to 6 hours.

Our afternoon game drive takes us in search of Africa’s Big Five “Big Five” animals (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo) and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve.

Other animals include Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, and wildebeest.

Elephants, buffalo, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see Cheetahs – harder to spot but reasonably common. The Masai Mara is the best place to see the famous wildebeest migration. 

The Masai Mara provides the best view of the famous wildebeest migration as the animals cross the Mara River between July and August.

Returning from our first foray into the Masai Mara, we have dinner at camp and relax under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the bush.

On day 2, we take an early-morning game drive before returning to the camp for breakfast. After we depart from our safari camp/lodge on a game drive en route in the Masai Mara Reserve, we drive back to bustling Nairobi, arriving at about 1600 hours.

0800 Hours: This morning, we depart the hotel after breakfast and drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This enormous reserve is part of the vast Serengeti plains, famously known for its spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration, and is home to the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino.

1300 Hours: Lunch at our lodge/camp and relax before departing for the afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive.

1530 Hours: The Mara Game Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. Residents of the parks include Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland, and thousands of plains game, including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles.

1830 Hours: Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Drive to Nairobi

0900 Hours: Return to the lodge/ camp for breakfast.

1000 Hours: We have the option to visit a Masai village before we depart by road to Nairobi.
