Mt Kilimanjaro Scenic Flight 1 Hour – By Plane: Our Kilimanjaro scenic flight operates daily – Monday to Sunday all year round, and takes you above 21000Ft for a bird’s eye view of Africa’s highest mountain, Arusha City, Arusha National Park, Mt Meru, West Kilimanjaro, Shira Plateau, Glaciers, Reusch Crater and Mawenzi Peak and much more from the flight – all with a guaranteed window seat.

The flight starts and ends at Arusha Local Airport in Tanzania. You can choose a morning flight at 7 am or an evening flight at 5 pm. Flying early in the morning or late in the evening is extremely comfortable; the air is still, and you will have a smooth flight.

Daily Kilimanjaro scenic flights for $525 per person (minimum requirement of 2 passengers plus a flat $400 supplement fee to guarantee the departure). You will be met by our crew at Arusha Airport and flown by two experienced pilots in a Cessna Caravan, which comfortably seats 12 passengers.

Flight includes warm drinks upon check-in, tablets with a flight audio tour, Bose noise-canceling headphones, in-flight bottled water, flight safety equipment (oxygen and oxygen masks), a window seat, and all taxes and fees.

Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the seven wonders of the natural world and one of Africa’s most iconic features. Mount Kilimanjaro is a freestanding volcanic mountain in Tanzania. It has three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain in the world.

You will not only have a bird’s eye view of Mount Kilimanjaro, but also you will have unforgettable aerial views of Mount Meru (the fifth highest mountain in Africa) and fantastic sceneries of  Arusha city, Arusha National Park, Mt Meru, West Kilimanjaro, Shira Plateau, Glaciers, Reusch Crater, and Mawenzi Peak – all with a guaranteed window seat.

While flying over Mount Kilimanjaro, look out for great photo-taking opportunities of Mawenzi Peak, Kibo Peak, the crater, Glaciers, Shira Plateau, and much more. You will witness a fantastic phenomenon of vegetation change from the forest zone to the desert zone right before your eyes.

The scenic tour is a 1-hour flight around Mt Kilimanjaro, departing from Arusha Airport and returning to Arusha Airport. The tour departs from Arusha Airport at 0700 hours and returns at 0800 Hours.

This morning flight returns in time to connect with your outbound flight to the Serengeti, or to get back in your jeep and continue your safari by road. You could also choose to fly in the afternoon between 1700 Hours and 1800 Hours.

* Oxygen and oxygen masks are available on the aircraft and will be provided when we climb and descend through 13,000 feet
* Note that you can schedule a private departure as per your schedule; however, early mornings and evenings are best for scenic flights
* The morning flight returns in time to connect with their outbound flights to the Serengeti, or get back on their jeep and continue with their safari by road
* Passengers with evening flights out of Kilimanjaro International Airport,t e.g., KLM, Precision, Rwandair, can be dropped off at JRO for an additional cost, thereby avoiding the road transfer between Arusha and Kilimanjaro International Airport
* Kilimanjaro Scenic flight tour is operated by a Cessna Caravan, not a helicopter. Helicopters can operate in Tanzania’s national parks under special permits. The requirements for obtaining this permit are based on factors such as rescue purposes, medical conditions, surveys, animal counts, and related criteria. The main reason is to avoid helicopter noise
* Minimum two passengers required to operate the flight  (guarantee the flight with just two seats). If the minimum number of passengers required is not met, passengers have an option of purchasing the remaining tickets or rescheduling to another operating flight

* Only window seats leave aisle seats empty during the flight
* All passengers are temperature checked to confirm normality
* Crews are temperature checked and their oxygen levels are checked before every flight
* Aircraft cabins are thoroughly disinfected after each flight with approved cleaning agents
* All passengers are required to wear a face mask during the flight. A disposable mask is provided to you if you do not have one in your possession

Luggage

* For clients who are connecting with another flight after the Kilimanjaro scenic flight in Arusha Airport, we will store their luggage after check-in. Once they return from the scenic flight, they don’t need to check out or go through security again. We will help them with their luggage and connect the luggage to their next flight/airline

* For clients who are being dropped off at JRO after the scenic flight, the luggage should be transferred by road to JRO. Keeping our total aircraft weight low improves performance and helps reduce carbon emissions. This is aligned with our vision to create the most sustainable scenic flight in the world.

Weather

* If the weather is questionable on the day of your sky experience, Ruka Africa reserves the right to delay or cancel up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

* Our standard cancellations and scheduling policies still apply. In the event of a cancellation due to weather or technical issues, we will either issue a full refund or reschedule your clients on another flight upon your consent

* If the weather deteriorates and we can not land back in Arusha, we will divert to Kilimanjaro International Airport and land. Passengers can either wait for the weather to get better, then fly back to Arusha, or take our arranged transportation from Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha at no extra cost.

* Viewing Mt. Kilimanjaro from the sky can never be guaranteed, and in the unfortunate event that clouds have covered the mountain during your flight, we will offer to reschedule you on another flight (depending on availability)
