Sentinel Mara Camp

Sentinel Camp Mara is a small luxury owner-run camp emphasizing intimate personalized experiences for our guests. The camp is located along the banks of the Mara River in Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Sentinel camp is situated in a prime area, the Musiara Marsh area renowned for its outstanding game viewing is where both the BBC “Big Cat Diaries” and Disney’s “African Cats” were filmed. You are assured of an excellent game-viewing experience.

The Camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes.  About 3.4 km from Hippo Pool Viewpoint.

Sentinel Mara Camp; A luxury tented Eco-camp set up in an exceptional location in a forest, this ensures that guests derive maximum pleasure from their natural surroundings and the abundance of wildlife. ​

There are 8 large luxury sleeping tents (including 2 family tents with extra rooms for small children), each with a wrought iron 4-poster bed with mosquito net, woven throw rugs, canvas closet, luggage rack, work desks, wooden chest, and a patio with safari chairs.  The spacious tents have en suite porcelain toilets and hot showers tucked away in the forest.

Each tent along the river is tastefully furnished with campaign furniture to capture the romance and adventure of a bygone era.  The camp has 2 lounges and dining areas with minimalist comfortable sofas, chairs, and decor.

The camp serves varied meals from fresh food prepared daily by the chefs. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining tent or under the velvet African skies with lanterns. Wi-Fi, as well as charging facilities, are available in the lounge tents

The lounge has an area where guests can sit around the campfire in the evenings and sip sundowner drinks as they watch the sunsets over the magnificent Masai Mara. Guests can spend time outdoors in a seating arrangement sheltered under layered parasols or enjoy a relaxing nap on a hammock stretched between two trees.

Sentinel Camp Mara activities include; game drives, guided bush walks, bird walks in the forest, Maasai village visits, champagne breakfast, and a hot air balloon safari.
