Simba Oryx Nature Camp Masai Mara

Simba Oryx Nature Camp is set just at the border to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, 750 meters from the Oloolaimutia Gate, with great view to Serengeti and Masai Mara.

The lodge can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 250 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time take about 45 minutes. Ol Kiombo Airstrip is 28.9 km from the camp.

The camp has 10 tasteful spacious tents, each fitted with its own solar panels for electricity, air conditioning, mosquito net, glass front, verandah with safari chairs and en-suite bathroom with flush toilets, hot and cold-water shower.

The tents have enough distance to each other that you get the impression of being alone in the terrific wilderness of Mara. Through the glass front you can recognize the wild animals even from your bed.

Each tent has its own solar panels for electricity and hot water. A normal tent is for triples (2 beds), then we have 3 Honeymoon-Tents (each tent 66 m2 with veranda, living room, wet area with separate toilet and shower room).

The restaurant is furnished with a 6-seater dining table and serves both local and continental dishes. Guests can sit in the terrace and front porch with amazing view of grazing zebras. In the evening guests can relax in the bar or around the campfires as they enjoy their drinks.

The Masai Mara Reserve forms together with the big Serengeti in Tanzania the most important ecosystem for wild animals in East Africa and becomes UNESCO world heritage because of the annual migration trough Mara river of hundred thousands of zebras and gnus.

Activities at the camp include; game drives, walking safaris, Maasai village visits, and hot air balloon safaris.
