Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy offers basic but comfortable accommodation facilities in the world-famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Nanyuki Kenya. The stables are 17 km from Nanyuki Town and 217 km from Nairobi and offer a full board accommodation that includes breakfast, lunch (Kenyan style), and dinner, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day. Ol Pejeta’s The Stables were originally built to house the horses of the previous owner of Ol Pejeta – Adnan Khashoggi and were subsequently converted into Ol Pejeta’s Research Centre. Today they have converted into comfortable budget accommodation giving you a chance to experience the beauty of Ol Pejeta on a budget.
There are 11 single rooms, 2 en-suite double rooms, and a twin tent with 2 single beds. The single rooms and the twin tent have shared bathrooms. Each room has a bed with a mosquito net, a clothes hangar, and a power socket. A fridge and boiled water are available; bathrooms are shared. The Stables must be pre-booked. Conservancy entrance fees are NOT included and are payable upon entry at our main gate.
Ol Pejeta’s Stables activities include Ol Pejeta’s anti-poaching dog unit visits, lion tracking out in the bush, morning or late afternoon horse ride, a run with the conservancy’s rangers, gamedrive to see the big 5 and visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a budget accommodation located within the 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, on the Laikipia Plains. The stables are 17 kilometers from Nanyuki Town and 217 kilometers from Nairobi. The stables were originally built to house the horses of the previous owner of Ol Pejeta – Adnan Khashoggi.
The stables were later converted to a research center and then recently changed to budget accommodation. There are 14 guestrooms and several round thatched houses. The guestrooms are spacious and have a mosquito net, clothes hangar, power socket, chair, and laundry basket. The budget accommodation supply boiled water for drinking and there is a fridge available to guests for their drinks.
Bathrooms with hot showers are shared in the Stables Ol Pejeta Conservancy. There is a restaurant that serves meals strictly at specified times. Mealtimes are strictly 7-8 am for breakfast, 1-2 pm for lunch, and 6-7 pm for dinner. The accommodation runs on generator power only, hence guests are requested to bring their torches.
The Stables do not accept cash and only payments using Credit Cards, Mpesa, and Paypal. Conservancy entrance fees are NOT included and are payable upon entry at our main gate. No vehicles are provided for game drives or activities when staying at The Stables, so you must come in your car. In the evening guests can enjoy their meals around the campfire as they are unwinding and catching up with fellow travelers.
The stables activities include horse riding and game drives, and even being part of the volunteer program. Other activities include Behind Scenes Chimpanzees, Cycling Safari, Dog Tracking, Bush and Bird Walks, Gym in the Wild, Junior Ranger, Lion Tracking, Meet the Northern White Rhinos, Night Game Drive, Ride the Wild, Ride with Rhinos and Run the Wild.
