The River Camp Ol Pejeta conservancy

The River Camp is a luxury safari accommodation set on the banks of the Ngobit River and within the Ol Pejeta conservancy in Laikipia.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in Laikipia, is approximately 17 Km from Nanyuki town and 217 Km(3-4 hours Drive) from Nairobi. There are daily scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Nanyuki airstrip, which is a 45-minute drive from Ol Pejeta.

The river camp offers 7 luxury twin/double tents and 1 family unit with a capacity for 16 people. All guests are designed for comfort and natural elegance with private en suite bathrooms.

The tents offer both indoor and outdoor showers and private decks with day beds overlooking the river and waterhole. A swimming pool and spa treatment tent will complete the safari experience at the River Camp.

The common areas constructed on decks have an open feel overlooking the al fresco deck surrounded by the river on three sides. Modern flair on bush meals and special menu requests are catered for all dietary requirements. A well-stocked bar will offer great wines and authentic cocktails after long game drives.

Activities available from The River Camp include; daily game drives, night game drives horse riding, lion trekking, walking safaris, bush dining, sundowners, Swimming, Village Visits, bird walks, etc.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and its game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya has over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen.

It is also where the fastest-growing population of rhinos in Africa can be found. There are southern white rhinos, about 80 endangered black rhinos and in a special sanctuary, there are two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos.
