Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp

Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp (formerly Zebra Plains Amboseli) is an eco-friendly safari camp located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance. The camp offers stunning views of Africa’s highest mountain, the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro. Tulia camp lies 250 km south (four hours drive, one hour flight time) of Nairobi and close to the Tanzanian border and Mount Kilimanjaro. ‘Tulia’ is Swahili for ‘Calm’ and ‘Peaceful’. The camp offers 20 luxury safari tents, 10 of which have their own plunge pool. All tents are provided with generator electricity and hot and cold running water, showers and WC.

All tents have an unobstructed and stunning view of Mt Kilimanjaro and the wooded plains of Amboseli National park. Activities available at the camp include a hot air balloon ride, morning and afternoon game drives in Amboseli National park, night game drives, nature walks with an experienced guide, bird watching, bush meals, dinner under the stars, sundowner drinks and bitings, and visits to an authentic, traditional Masai village.

Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp consists of Deluxe  Tents, Superb Tents & Superb family tents.  Deluxe Safari tents  – each has its own plunge pool sunken into the large front deck! The large tents offer one Queen or two Twin beds, a sitting area, a desk, a large bathroom with a toilet, double sinks, and a rainfall shower. Relax and watch the game at the watering hole from your large front deck or in your own plunge pool with Mt Kilimanjaro as a backdrop.

Superb tents – have covered patios with comfortable safari chairs and incredible views of Mt Kilimanjaro. They are perfect for viewing the game at the waterhole, relaxing, and enjoying the sunset. Enjoy the luxury queen size bed, blanket chest, writing desk, and ensuite 3-piece bathroom with 24-hour hot and cold running water. An additional single bed can be added upon request.

The Superb Family Tent – includes two bedrooms, two 3-piece bathrooms, and an enclosed sitting area with comfortable furnishings. The unobstructed view of Mt Kilimanjaro is a perfect setting while viewing the game at the waterhole, relaxing, and enjoying the sunset. Enjoy the luxury queen-size beds, blanket chests, sitting area, writing desk, and ensuite 3-piece bathrooms with 24-hour hot and cold running water.

All rooms are generously sized and feature furniture and décor that has been sourced by local tradesmen and crafted by local seasoned artisans. The accommodation options comprise all bathroom amenities such as plush towels, fans, free wifi, and a walk-in shower. 

Dine in the open restaurant tent overlooking the main waterhole. Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp restaurant offers wholesome, delicious meals in a peaceful setting overlooking a busy waterhole and a spectacular view of Mt Kilimanjaro.

Meals are prepared by experienced Kenyan chefs who specialize in classic homestyle meals while catering to dietary restrictions and requests. Free Wi-fi is available in the camp.
