Day 1: Arrival & Afternoon Game Drive

0700 Hours – 0730 Hours: Arrive at Wilson Airport (Nairobi) at least 1 hour before your scheduled flight time
0730 Hours  – 0830 Hours: Fly from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara. (Flight time is approximately 1 hour)
0930 Hours: Land at the local airstrip. Your lodge’s driver-guide will meet you and conduct an en-route game drive while transferring you to the lodge
1230 Hours: Arrive at the lodge for check-in and a hot lunch
1330 Hours – 1530 Hours: Time to relax, enjoy the lodge amenities, or take a short siesta
1600 Hours – 1830 Hours: Depart for your late-afternoon/evening game drive
1830 Hours: Return to the lodge to freshen up before dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Full-Day Safari (Morning & Evening Game Drives)

0600 Hours – 0630 Hours: Early wake-up call and a light breakfast.
0630 Hours– 1130 Hours: Depart for your morning game drive. This is the best time to catch predators actively hunting before the heat of the day

Day 3: Departure for Nairobi

DAY 1: Nairobi to Lemek Conservancy – Greater Masai Mara

This outstanding Fly-in Masai Mara Safari departs from Wilson Airport in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. We catch a scheduled flight at 1000 Hours, flying to the Mara North Airstrip near the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Touching down at about 1100 Hours, you are met by the lodge driver-guide and transferred to Muthu Mara River Lodge within the exclusive Lemek Conservancy.

Entering Lemek Conservancy, we enjoy our first game viewing en route to Muthu Mara River Lodge. The private conservancy is known for its high concentration and diversity of wildlife, so we look forward to some superb sightings. Settle in at the lodge and tuck into a fresh lunch before embarking on a sunset game drive late this afternoon.

Exploring the private Lemek Conservancy with professional guides in 4×4 safari vehicles, you are immersed in the African bush from the start – experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells up close. Along the way, we pause for sundowners in the untamed wilderness, taking in the scenery as the sky comes alive with glowing colors.

After sunset, we make our way back to the lodge as the day rapidly fades into night and the nocturnal creatures begin to stir. Back at the peaceful lodge, we have dinner and spend the rest of the evening relaxing in the authentic bush surroundings.

DAY 02: Lemek Conservancy – Greater Masai Mara

Waking up in the heart of the unspoiled African bush this morning, we prepare for a full day of game viewing in the private conservancy areas neighboring the Masai Mara National Reserve.

The Lemek Conservancy areas offer a more exclusive Masai Mara safari experience than the national park, which is open to the public. We are unlikely to come across other safari vehicles out in the bush – a real treat in the Mara ecosystem, as it is a hugely popular African safari destination.

This private conservancy area of the Greater Masai Mara is home to abundant wildlife, including four of Africa’s Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards. The Great Wildebeest Migration and a second Wildebeest Migration pass through the conservancies at certain times of the year. The Mara region is also renowned for its big cats, hosting healthy populations of cheetahs, leopards and lions, along with African wild cats, servals and caracals.

Lemek Conservancy is inhabited by particularly large lion prides, hosting one of the highest densities of lions on the planet. Keep your eyes open for animals such as giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and a variety of antelope species, as well as rare wild dogs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes.

The experienced Masai guides leading your game drives are adept at finding wildlife in the Masai Mara and can tell you more about the incredible flora and fauna you encounter.

Between 1 July and 30 September, we will do a full day game viewing in the Masai Mara National Reserve, and a one-day Masai Mara National Reserve entry fee is included in the tour cost

DAY 03: Greater Masai Mara to Nairobi – Kenya

Last day in Greater Masai Mara, wake up bright and early at the tranquil camp amid the near-pristine environment of Lemek Conservancy. We set off on either a bush walk or a 4×4 game drive in the Greater Masai Mara.

Our local Maasai guide takes you back out into Lemek Conservancy, on foot or in the open-sided safari vehicle, depending on conditions. After the final game viewing adventure of our Kenya Lodge Safari, we return to the lodge for a tasty breakfast.

Then it is time to pack up and return to the Mara North Airstrip, leaving the wild Lemek Conservancy behind.

At about 1100 hours, we board our scheduled flight to the Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Arriving back in the big city at about 1200 Hours, our short Fly-in Masai Mara Safari comes to an end.
