3-Day Fly-In Safari Kilima Safari Camp Amboseli from Nairobi travels to Kilima Safari Camp Amboseli by air. Get the best of both worlds on this fly-in safari – exploring the famous Amboseli National Park on game drives in open-sided 4×4 safari vehicles.

Fly straight to Amboseli National park from Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Your guide welcomes you upon arrival at the airstrip and drives you to the exclusive Kilima Safari Camp located in the area of Amboseli National Park, next to the Kimana Gate Park entrance.

The scenic flight from Nairobi to Amboseli is approximately 45 minutes and you land at the Amboseli Airstrip which is a 20 minutes drive to the camp. Kilima Safari Camp lies 250 km South of Nairobi (four hour’s drive) and close to the Tanzanian border and Mount Kilimanjaro)

Arriving at the private camp we have lunch and relax in the wilderness, before our first game-viewing adventure. In the afternoon we set off into Amboseli National park in the customized 4×4 vehicle, going in search of wildlife and birds. Back at camp, we have drinks and dinner around the campfire, surrounded by untamed nature.

On day two we rise at daybreak, heading into the Amboseli National Park on a morning game drive. The entire day is set aside for 4×4 game drives in Amboseli, one of the most scenic national parks in Kenya. Kenya’s Amboseli Park is famous for close-up elephant encounters with its large elephant herds, flanked by the impressive Mount Kilimanjaro in neighboring Tanzania.

In addition to the large elephant herds that Amboseli is famous for, the game park is also home to wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, and plains game. Predators include lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, leopards, caracal, jackals, hyenas, and serval cats. Other inhabitants include crocodiles, mongoose, porcupines, warthog, hyrax, small dik-dik, impala, and Lesser Kudu, among other antelopes.

Amboseli hosts abundant birdlife, with over 400 bird species. Birdlife includes pelicans, bee-eaters, Egyptian geese, kingfishers, crakes, hammerkops, and 47 types of raptors, including various eagle species.

Leaving Amboseli National Park after a rewarding day of game viewing we return to our private camp. We have dinner and spend the evening relaxing around the fire, soaking up the peace and gazing at the stars.

On our last day on safari, we have breakfast back at the camp, before packing up and driving back across the plains to the airstrip. Fly back to the Wilson Airport in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, where this truly African wildlife adventure comes to a close.
