9 Days Kenya Fly-in Safari Samburu Masai Mara Naboisho Conservancy

9 Days Kenya Fly-in Safari Samburu Masai Mara Naboisho Conservancy:  Experience the vast expanses of true wilderness and perhaps some of the best game viewing areas on the African continent on our 9-day safari.

This luxury trip combines three of the most popular travel regions in Kenya – Samburu in the Northern frontier of Kenya (Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy), Masai Mara Game Reserve in the southwest of Kenya and Mara Naboisho Conservancy – a private conservancy located adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Begin the trip from Nairobi with a flight to the magnificent Samburu wilderness in the northern frontier of Kenya to Sarara Camp. Sarara is a luxurious tented camp found within the lands of the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust an 85,000-acre area in the remote northern reaches of Laikipia known as the Matthews Range.

A stay at Sarara is more about activities and cultural interactions than intensive game viewing. The property offers a huge range of activities including nature walks, game drives, birding animal hide, Samburu village visits, horseback riding, private massages, yoga and singing wells (dry season only, January to March and July to October).

After 3 nights at Sarara camp, we fly to Masai Mara Game Reserve. We stay at Rekero Camp, a charming, authentic seasonal safari camp situated inside the Masa Mara Game Reserve on the Talek River. The position is ideal to spot the teeming wildlife, such as wildebeest and zebra, as they migrate on their annual journey across crocodile-infested waters.

The camp has been known to be surrounded by wildebeest and there are three regular river crossing points in the area. Species you can look forward to seeing include lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, occasional rare black rhino, and hippo. Look out for the superb bird life or visit the local Masai communities to learn about local traditions and cultures.

After two nights at Rekero camp, we transfer with a game drive en route to the private Mara Naboisho Conservancy and spend 3 nights at Naboisho Camp. Naboisho Camp offers spectacular game viewing, from the herds of antelope that dot the plains of this wilderness corridor throughout the year to the high concentrations of predators, including lion and cheetah.

But the real magic of Naboisho Camp is its sheer exclusivity – you’ll experience a level of safari solitude and serenity simply unheard of in the busy Serengeti and Masai Mara reserves. With just nine spacious tented suites, Naboisho is an intimate and elegant safari camp that balances your wilderness experience with discreet creature comforts.

Even better, Naboisho Camp offers the options of fly camping, walking safaris, horse riding and night drives – activities not commonly available in most national parks. If you have a truly adventurous spirit, don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in the magic of the African bush.
