Basecamp Masai Mara

Basecamp Masai Mara is a luxury safari camp situated along the banks of the Talek River, the natural border to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, and in close proximity to Talek Village.

The lodge is located approximately 255 km from Nairobi and the driving time takes about 5 hours. Flights from Wilson Airport, Nairobi land at Mara Olkiombo airstrip followed by a 45-minute drive to Basecamp Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is just across the river, home to the highest density of wildlife in the world, the Big 5, and the 7^th wonder of the world- The Wildebeest Migration.

Basecamp Masai Mara offers 17 double riverside tents, and a family tent, all built along the banks of the Talek River, the natural border to the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The dense riverbed foliage allows for maximum privacy and comfort, without compromising the view of the Masai Mara National Reserve. With more than 286 identified bird species, you are certain to wake to a symphony of birdsong while staying at Basecamp Masai Mara.

The camp provides an excellent base for exploring nature conservation like the Basecamp Nature Forest and Community-based initiatives like the Masai Beading Center (Basecamp Masai Brand) to promote & preserve local culture and talent. While here experience a combination of authentic hosting and cultural immersion in the company of local Maasai hosts and guides.

All tents have thatched roofs, appealing tent interiors, fitted with bio-flush toilets, solar-heated safari showers, and a private balcony, where you have a direct view of the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Each double tent offers king-size double or twin beds, a bathroom featuring bio-flush toilets and two solar-heated showers, one inside and one open-air safari shower, private deck with a view towards the river bed and Masai Mara National Reserve.

The family tent has two separate wings, each featuring a double bed with a shared bathroom area. The tent offers a larger deluxe balcony to give families or groups a chance to socialize in complete privacy

Basecamp Masai Mara activities include; balloon safari, bird watching, village visits, nature walks, and night and day game drives.

Masai Mara Park Fees

* 100 US Dollars per adult, per night from 1st January to 30th June
* 200 US Dollars per adult, per night from 1st July to 31st December
* 50 US Dollars per child, per night all year (aged 3 to 17 years inclusive)
