Mara Leisure Camp

Mara Leisure Camp is a luxury safari accommodation located along the Talek River on the northern boundary of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, 20 km from Sekenani gate.  The camp is at the confluence of the Masai Mara’s four wildlife viewing areas and One of the most exciting spectacles the ‘Great Migration’, takes place.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45 minutes. The camp is a 40-minute drive from both the Ol Kiombo Airstrip and the Keekorok Airstrip. 

Mara Leisure camp accommodation facilities include 9 spacious ‘jumbo’ tents, 13 ‘Nyati’ tents, and 3 families ‘Jamii’ cottages. Each of the canvas tents is erected on a raised deck and has a wooden floor, mosquito net, work desk, and en-suite bathroom with shower and toiletries.

The tents also have seating arrangements inside and, on the deck, where guests can lounge. The Jamii Cottages are solid buildings with 2 rooms a double room and a twin room. They are all well furnished with a safari-style theme and have mosquito nets, work desks spacious en-suite bathrooms, and patios with rocking chairs.

Mara Leisure camp has a dining area with arrangements for having your meals on its spacious covered verandah or indoors in the adjoining building. The restaurant offers excellent cuisine from either the buffet or the set menu.

There is an indoor bar with a collection of wines and a selection of Kenyan thirst quenchers. Guests can relax by the bonfire and gaze at the stars.

The outdoor swimming pool offers an ideal place for relaxing as guests order cocktails or take a refreshing dip between game drives. The camp has a fully equipped conference room that can accommodate up to 40 guests.

There is also a mini bush spa massage facility that offers massage therapies and body treatments that over a holistic experience to unwind and restore the balance between mind, body, and spirit.

Mara Leisure Camp activities include; day game drives, nature walks,  hot air balloons, village visits, night game drives, bush picnics, and lectures from local Maasai.
