Miti Mingi Eco Camp Masai Mara

Miti Mingi Eco Camp Masai Mara is a budget safari camp located on the banks of Ololaimutiek River in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is set 500 meters from the Ololaimutiek Masai Mara entrance gate.

The camp is nestled under a canopy of indigenous trees (Miti Mingi) – meaning many trees create a cool retreat from the heat of the plains, the leafy canopy attracts a large variety of birdlife all day long and you will be gently awakened by a chorus of birds call every morning.

The camp can be reached either by road or by air. The distance from Nairobi to Masai Mara is approximately 280 km. It takes around 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes approximately 45 minutes. Keekorok Airstrip is 20 minutes game drive from the camp.

Miti Mingi Eco Camp Masai Mara has 30 tent-structured rooms decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron, and crisp cotton. Each tent is fitted with 4 poster beds, a mosquito net, and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower, sink and flush toilet. The tents have terraces for viewing beautiful landscapes.

The lounge, bar, and dining area are synchronized in the same clubhouse to give the guests easy movement from one place to another. And a place where they can share their experience of the day.

The camp has a lawn that has comfortable natural wooden benches, from where discussions, reading, eating, and drinking can comfortably be done. Guests can also take a walk around the tends, under the different shades of the different natural trees.

The camp lighting is provided by hydroelectric generated power and backed up by a diesel-run generator which runs from 6.30 pm in the evening up to 10.00 o’clock. Sockets are provided in all tents for charging digital cameras and mobile phones.

Wildlife – Nowhere in Africa is more wildlife abundant. The Mara is known as one of the finest wildlife destinations in the world, with an excellent chance of seeing the big five, cheetah, serval, hyena, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, topi, eland, Thompson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck, etc.

Miti Mingi Eco Camp Masai Mara activities include; walking safaris, bird watching, game drives, hot air balloon safaris, cultural visits, and Scenic flights over the Mara. Other activities include; Cultural Weddings, Wedding Anniversaries, Birthday Parties, Team Building & Bonfires.
