Leaving Nairobi early this morning, we drive northeast to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Laikipia, Northern Kenya. We travel in an open, 4×4 safari vehicle to our safari camp/lodge inside the private Lewa Conservancy. In this final section of the journey, you will most likely have your first sightings of the wildlife that roam this wild area.

Arriving at the tented camp/lodge, on the first day, we settle in and sit down to a tasty lunch. Then you are free to relax or take a dip in the pool. Accommodation: Intimate options include Lewa Safari Camp, Sirikoi Lodge, Lewa Wilderness, and Kifaru House.

Later, when the day cools down, we embark on our first game drive in Lewa Conservancy. Boarding our open 4×4 safari vehicle, we head out with our driver guide on the lookout for exciting wildlife activity.

It’s doubtful that you will be disappointed, as the guides have an intimate knowledge of this area and the bush telegraph keeps them updated on any not-to-be-missed sightings. They know all the best places to park that offer the best viewing spots and photo opportunities.

We look out for the Big 5, antelope, giraffe, zebra, wild dog, spectacular birdlife, and many more species to add to your sightings list. We stop to watch the beautiful African sunset, then drive back to the tented safari lodge, where dinner awaits.

Relax around the campfire or bar and recount the adventures of your first game drive before heading off to bed to fall asleep to the sounds of the bush. The next two days of our Kenya Safari are set aside for game viewing in Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Set amidst 62,000 acres of sprawling savannah, the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy boasts some of the most spectacular views in northern Kenya.
