Our experienced Safari guides will be with you every step of the way to help you spot Africa’s famous Big 5 Animals, namely the Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino, and Elephant, as well as many, many other species.

Soysambu Conservancy is a private conservancy of 50,000 acres nestled between Lake Elmenteita and Lake Nakuru National Park, approximately 130 kilometers northwest of Nairobi. The Conservancy is home to abundant wildlife, including over 400 bird species, and has one of the highest densities of game in Kenya.

Over 15,000 wild animals, including Rothschild Giraffes, Buffaloes, Leopards, Hyenas, Jackals, Elands, Zebras, Impalas, Thompson’s and Grant’s Gazelles, Defassa Waterbucks, Reedbucks, Warthogs, Steinboks, Klipspringers, and Colobus Monkeys.

Our 2nd Day is spent on a morning excursion to the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park for game-viewing drives. 

The park, colored a shimmering flamingo pink by thousands of beautiful birds lining its shores, is popular with visitors and locals alike. Lake Nakuru is home to the Rothschild’s giraffe, Waterbuck, Baboon, impala, buffalo, monkeys, warthog, reedbuck, and eland. However, the main attractions are the rhinos.

Ol Pejeta Ranch is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to three of the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos.

The conservancy is located in Central Kenya’s Laikipia County. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a Sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.

5 Day/ 4 Nights Elementaita, Lake Nakuru & Olpejeta Conservancy Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Soysambu Conservancy Lake Elementaita

0900 Hours: Depart from Nairobi and drive via the Great Rift Valley Escarpment with a Photo stop en route at View Point. Drive on to Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy to arrive at Lake Elementaita Serena Camp in time for lunch.

1200 Hours: Check-in and lunch follow. After lunch, you can swim in the pool or enjoy Massage Services before the afternoon game drive

1600 Hours: Our afternoon game drive in Soysambu Conservancy offers peace and privacy, with chances to see zebras, gazelles, elands, waterbucks, and buffaloes, as well as family groups of black-backed jackals, warthogs, dik-diks, and baboons.

Soysambu protects flourishing breeding herds of endangered Rothschild giraffes and nationally threatened colobus monkeys. Less common species include the bushbuck, bush pig, steinbok, reedbuck, duiker, caracal, golden, and side-striped jackals.

Day 2: Soysambu Conservancy Lake Elementaita – Lake Nakuru National Park

0800 Hours: After breakfast, depart for a morning excursion to the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park for game viewing drives.

The park, colored a shimmering flamingo pink by thousands of beautiful birds lining its shores, is popular with visitors and locals alike. Lake Nakuru is home to the Rothschild’s giraffe, Waterbuck, Baboon, impala, buffalo, monkeys, warthog, reedbuck, and eland. However, the main attractions are the rhinos.

A designated rhino sanctuary, the park is one of the best places in Kenya to observe these endangered species. Both black and white Rhinos thrive here.

Besides the greater and lesser flamingos, the park is home to many other species, including Grebes, Pelicans, Cormorants, Darters, Geese, Herons, Fish Eagles, Marabou Storks, Sacred Ibis, and Hadada Ibis.

1200 Hours: Drive back to the Camp for lunch, followed by an afternoon at leisure to enjoy the Camp facilities or opt for one of the Camp’s optional activities.

Day 3: Soysambu Conservancy, Lake Elementaita Drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

0800 Hours: After breakfast, we depart by road to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary/ Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located approximately 240 km from Lake Elementaita Soysambu Conservancy.

1300 Hours: We arrive in time for lunch at the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp.

1530 Hours: After lunch, we relax before setting out on an afternoon game drive in the Conservancy, which is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, and holds some of the highest predator densities in Kenya.

Extra activities such as game walks, night game drives, horseback, Guided Bush Walks, Lion Tracking, Bird Watching, Game Viewing from Blinds, game rides, meals in the bush, and Camel Rides are available upon request.

Day 4: Full Day in Sweetwaters/ Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Today, after breakfast, we lock eyes with a chimpanzee, visit three of the world’s last remaining five northern white rhinos, and watch a wild pride of lions roaming the African plains. With the snowy peaks of Mt. Kenya as your backdrop, your safari game drive through the largest black rhino sanctuary is sure to be as beautiful as it is diverse.

Find yourself and the Big Five as you explore 90,000 acres of pure wilderness with an experienced guide who will share his expert knowledge with you. Venture out there for close encounters with elephants, wild dogs, lions, hyenas, buffalo, cheetahs, rhinos, and all the plains herbivores.

0630 Hours: An early morning game drive in the Conservancy. Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the closest place from Nairobi to see the Big Five – lion, African elephant, African Buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros (either the black rhinoceros or the white rhinoceros).

The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.
