Masai Mara Game Reserve

This comprehensive 6-day Kenya road safari begins from Nairobi and takes you through 3 of Kenya’s premier wildlife reserves on an epic East African safari. Explore

Amboseli National Park, famous for its views of Mt Kilimanjaro and large numbers of elephants
Lake Nakuru National Park, with its diverse wildlife and birds, and the world-renowned
Masai Mara National Reserve is globally renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, an annual phenomenon where millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse its sweeping savannahs. It is also famous for its year-round abundance of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and its rich Maasai cultural heritage.

Enjoy exciting wildlife viewing in an open 4×4, with each guest guaranteed a window seat, and relax in 4-star safari lodge accommodation. Take advantage of optional excursions to get the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Beginning in Nairobi, this safari could end in Mombasa or Nairobi. The tour travels south towards the Kenyan/ Tanzanian border to Amboseli National Park, lying in the foothills of distant Kilimanjaro.

Known as the best place to view large herds of elephants, the park is also home to Leopards, Cheetahs, Wild dogs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, mongooses, and Lesser Kudus. There are also over 600 species of birdlife located here.

After 2 nights in Amboseli, the safari heads back towards Nairobi (with a stopover for lunch) and continues through the stunning scenery of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley to explore Lake Nakuru National Park.

The woodland and grassland surrounding Lake Nakuru are home to an abundance of wildlife, including black rhino, white rhino, hippo, leopard, lion, Colobus monkeys, buffalo, and the rare Rothschild giraffe.

Lake Nakuru is a birdwatcher’s paradise where fish-eating pelicans and cormorants are prolific, as well as in excess of 400 other resident bird species. After a night in Lake Nakuru and travel through the Great Rift Valley, passing rural areas en route to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The Masai Mara is home to the Big and the Small Five – the elephant shrew, the Buffalo-weaver, Leopard tortoise, Ant-lion and Rhino beetle – the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino) being easier to spot than the Small 5.

Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara reserve, you will see plenty of wildlife, such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeest. Elephants, buffalo, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers.

The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August, when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.

After 2 Nights in the Masai Mara, we return to Nairobi, where this 6 Day Kenya Safari to Amboseli, Lake Nakuru & Mara comes to an end.
