4 Day 3 Nights Masai Mara Budget Safari Kenya

A fantastic 4-day Budget Safari to Kenya’s premier game reserve – the Masai Mara. Departing from the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, we drive down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. We arrive at our overnight camp, located at the closest entrance to Masai Mara Ololaimutia gate, in time for lunch.

This afternoon we explore Masai Mara on our first game drive, getting a taste of what this legendary game park has to offer! We stay in budget safari tents overlooking scenic hills, a river, or the surrounding wilderness of southern Kenya.

The next two days are spent game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. Animals seen include Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, and wildebeest.

Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the wild plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common.

The ultimate action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Optional excursions on offer at an extra cost include visits to Cultural Maasai villages and Hot-air balloon safaris.

We depart from our budget safari camp and take a morning game drive through the Masai Mara Reserve on day four. After breakfast we return to bustling Nairobi, arriving at about 16 hours in the afternoon. This unforgettable 4-Day Budget Masai Mara Camping Safari ends upon arrival back in Nairobi.

Note: Our 4-day Masai Mara Budget safari could stay at any of the following camps; Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, Olmoran Tented Camp, Mara Sopa Lodge, and Enkorok tented Camp. Others include Simba Oryx Camp, Topi Lodge, Rhino Tourist Camp, Emayian Luxury Camp, Manyatta Camp, Mara Chui Camp, and Sidai Camp.

These budget camps feature permanent tents which have been tastefully decorated and furnished with double beds and mosquito nets. The tents have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, washbasins, and hot showers. Facilities include bar and lounge areas, a shop selling locally-made products, and an airy restaurant.
