4 Day 3 Nights Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Budget Safari

4 Day 3 Nights Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Budget Safari explores two of Kenya’s top game parks – Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Parks on thrilling game viewing drives over five adventure-filled days.

This Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Budget Safari leaves from Nairobi in the morning, and travels via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley, arriving at the safari camp near Masai Mara in time for lunch. Then we venture into the Masai Mara Reserve on a thrilling afternoon to evening game drive. After our game drive, we return to the budget-tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day two is set aside for game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve.  Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve.

These include Masai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, and wildebeest.  Elephants, lions, buffalos, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common.

Later we return to our budget-tented safari camp for dinner and overnight. Our accommodations could be at any of the following camps; Jambo Mara Safari Lodge, Olmoran Tented Camp, Mara Sopa Lodge, and Enkorok tented Camp. Others include Simba Oryx Camp, Topi Lodge, Rhino Tourist Camp, Emayian Luxury Camp, Manyatta Camp, Mara Chui Camp, and Sidai Camp.

Day three of the Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Budget Safari starts with breakfast at our camp in Masai Mara then it’s back on the road, as we make our way to our next destination in Kenya, Lake Nakuru. Upon arrival, you will check in at your budget hotel and later have dinner.

Lake Nakuru Budget hotels include Chester Hotel, Kivu Retreat Resort, Midland Hotel Nakuru, Sleepway Cottages, Nuru Palace Hotel, Hotel City Max, Hillcourt Resort, and Spa Nakuru.

Day four begins with breakfast, followed by a  transfer to Lake Nakuru National park for a morning game-viewing drive in search of its diverse wildlife and birds. This Great Rift Valley lake attracts over 400 different bird species, including many water birds.

This birding haven hosts species such as the great white pelican, African spoonbill, yellow-billed stork, lesser and greater flamingo, and long-crested eagle.  The Lake Nakuru National Park is known as an important wildlife sanctuary for some of Africa’s endangered species, especially black and white rhinos, and Rothschild’s giraffes.

Other animals include lions, waterbuck, buffalo, and baboons. The game drive lasts 3 hours, after which we return to bustling Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at the city center/hotel within the city center. This 4-day Budget Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Safari ends upon arrival in Nairobi.
