Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli is a luxury eco-safari lodge situated in a private 30,000-acre Kitirua Conservancy on the western edge of Amboseli National Park, renowned for its unparalleled views of Mount Kilimanjaro and vast elephant herds.

Named after the iconic flat-topped Acacia Tortilis tree, the camp is surrounded by woodlands and open plains, offering an exclusive safari experience with game drives, guided walks, sundowners, and bush meals both inside Amboseli and the conservancy.

With just 16 tents, plus a Private House and Family Tent, Tortilis Camp combines comfort, sustainability, and immersive wilderness adventure.

Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli Information

Tortilis Camp Amboseli has 17 tents and a private house. The tents comprise nine double tents, eight twin tents, and a family tent. Each makuti-covered tent features a main bedroom with either twin or double beds, an en-suite bathroom, and a spacious verandah.

The family tent is a child-friendly safari tent offering outstanding views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, all from the comfort of your own private family verandah. The Family Tent features one double en-suite bedroom, one twin en-suite bedroom, and a spacious private patio.

The Private House consists of one en-suite double bedroom, one en-suite twin bedroom, and a spacious sitting/dining room with a verandah. All bedrooms can fit one extra bed for children under the age of 16 years only.

There is also a swimming pool shared within The Private House & the family tent, a spacious dining room overlooking Mt Kilimanjaro, where guests enjoy their meals at their own individual tables.

The food is prepared with fresh vegetables from the camp’s organic garden. The well-stocked bar offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can relax and unwind in the lounge where Canapes ‘biting’ is served before dinner. There is a swimming pool where guests can also relax on hot afternoons.

The camp offers massage services for mind and body rejuvenation amidst the wilderness. There are also manicures and pedicures. The camp provides ideal venues for weddings, blessings by the chief of the local tribal community, and renewal of vows for guests.

Tortilis Camp Amboseli activities include: game drives, guided walks, sundowners, bush breakfasts, and Maasai village visits. Guests can also enjoy animal tracking and learn about the uses of wild herbs and barks, as well as the Masai way of life.
