3 Day Selous Game Reserve Tanzania Luxury Flying Safari is a two nights wildlife holiday to Selous Game Reserve located in Southern Tanzania, between Ruaha and Dar es Salaam.
Selous Game Reserve flight services are normally available from Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Arusha into different airstrip in the reserve depend on which camp to be visited.
Located in southern Tanzania and far from the big crowds, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of our favorite wildlife viewing areas. Selous offers untouched African wilderness as the park is so vast it is impossible to count its game. It really is a hidden gem!
The Rufiji River and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood of a park that hosts some fabulous game, including elephant, wild dog, hippo, crocodile and fantastic prides of lion.
The park is home to over 50% of the remaining endangered African wild dog, and also hosts very good populations of African Animals.
Some include buffalo, giraffe, eland, hyena, sable, hippo, crocodile, kudu, baboon, wildebeest, zebra, impala, hartebeest, colobus monkeys, leopard and vervet monkeys along with over 450 species of bird.
Our 3 Day Selous Game Reserve Tanzania Luxury Flying Safari offers several optional activities such as standard daytime game drive safaris, nature walking operations, fly camping trips and mobile camping under the stars – very adventurous but not for the faint-hearted!

Game Drives: Selous Game Reserve visitors can visit the park through Safari packages with African Spice Safaris to small and remote camps and lodges, with little chance of bumping into any sign of human life.
During a game drive or walk one might be lucky enough to see a pack of African Wild Dog, disappearing throughout Africa but thriving in the Selous. If you are looking for elephants, Selous Game Reserve is the place to find them: there is a large population of these giant mammals.
Other species commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbucks, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus.
Boat Trip: Selous visitors are offered trips long the Rufiji River and the adjoining lakes where hippos, crocodile and a variety of bird species.
Spot fishing facilities are also available. Other activities include: Walking safaris and Bird watching.

Day 1: Dar-es-salaam or Zanzibar – Fly to Selous Game Reserve
0630 Hours: Transfer from your hotel/ resort to Zanzibar/ Dar-es-salaam Airport.
0830 Hours: Flight departs from the Airport to Selous Game Reserve.
0915 Hours: Arrival at the Selous Airstrip and meet and greet by your safari guide.
0930 Hours: Start of the first safari Game Drive
1230 Hours: Check in and lunch at the camp/ lodge in Selous Game Reserve
1600 Hours: Briefing by your guide and start of the activities: Choose between a walking, boat or game drive safari. Selous is Africa’s largest Game Reserve, the size of Switzerland and one of the last great wilderness areas on the continent.
You will spend two unforgettable nights here as well as taking full advantage of viewing the abundant wildlife, either by boat, vehicle or on foot.
1845 Hours: Return to the camp/ lodge in Selous Game Reserve.
2000 Hours: Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Selous Game Reserve – Fly to Zanzibar Airport or Dar es Salaam Airport
0700 Hours: Early morning tea or coffee in bed is a fine start to your last day here, and before traveling take an early boat or game drive, or lie in and meet for a leisurely breakfast.
After bidding farewell to camp managers and staff, take a slow drive to the airstrip to have your last viewings of the great Masai giraffe and perhaps their new born babies along the way.
0900 Hours: Depart for a short game drive en-route to the airstrip for the flight to back to Dar es Salaam.
0945 Hours: Flight leaves Selous Game Reserve.
1020 Hours: Arrive in Dar-es-salaam or Zanzibar.
