Take 4 days to experience this once-in-a-lifetime road wildlife journey to two of Kenya’s most incredible game parks – Aberdare National Park and Samburu National Reserve.
Enjoy full board accommodation, that’s all meals included, at well-selected safari lodges offering top-notch accommodation inside the scenic national parks and reserves.
The safari begins from Nairobi with a drive into the highlands of central Kenya to watch the wildlife of Aberdare National Park from a tree lodge overlooking an active, floodlit watering hole. Here, we spend a night game-viewing at a tree hotel in either Aberdare National Park or Mount Kenya National Park.
Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, The Ark is a unique tree lodge with a veranda overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, offering undisturbed views of wildlife visiting the waterhole. Watch the animals that frequently visit the lively waterhole beside the lodge, from a series of viewing decks and areas at different levels.
Spotting animals at the floodlit saltlick and watering hole into the night, with common visitors including elephants, buffalo, leopards, giant forest hogs, and Kenya’s indigenous endangered Black Rhino.
The other tree hotel is Treetops Lodge. Elephants, rhinos, leopards, bushbucks, and occasionally an elusive bongo and giant forest hog have been sighted. After a night at the Tree Lodge, you proceed to the Samburu Game Reserve situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in Kenya.
This means plenty of water, trees, and shade to attract wildlife like elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras from the surrounding savannah plains. Leopards are also regularly spotted. The Reserve is not particularly well–known and is therefore not too crowded – a huge plus in Kenya where so many reserves are often overflowing with tourists.
It is often grouped with the Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserves, as they lie so close together. After a two-night stay in this great reserve, you return to Nairobi by road.
